BIOT 447 - Research

(2 to 4 units)
Directed research for biotechnology majors. Students conduct research under the guidance of a faculty mentor. Maximum of 9 credits.

Offered Every Fall, Spring, and Summer
Student Learning Outcomes (if available):
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to apply their knowledge and skills from previous classes by completing a project of practical significance. Performance will be evaluated through a 3-5 page written report or a PowerPoint presentation prior to finals week.  Performance will also be evaluated using a final evaluation sheet.
2. Students will display professional conduct in a research setting. The student’s performance will be evaluated through the final evaluation. 
3. Students will be able to hone and demonstrate their communication skills in oral or written form. Performance will be evaluated through a written report or a PowerPoint presentation due prior to finals week.
