CHS 707 - Hiv/Aids Epidemiology (3 units)
Methodological issues, HIV/AIDS surveillance, descriptive epidemiology, clinical trials, and prevention research will be explored. (Formerly PUBH 707; implementation Fall 2009)

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to describe the history, principals, goals, and methods used in HIV/AIDS epidemiology.
2. Students will be able to critically evaluate and synthesize scientific literature.
3. Students will be able to evaluate, justify, and apply appropriate methodological and analytical approaches to address public health research questions in HIV/AIDS epidemiology.
4. Students will be able to effectively defend research methodology and findings through concise scientific writing and oral presentations.
5. Students will be able to interpret results from statistical analyses of epidemiologic studies.
6. Students will be able to examine biologic models of disease etiololgy.
