University Scholarships

|
Scholarships are merit awards based on academic performance. Information on the types of programs, application procedures, and a search of available scholarships is available on the office’s website at http://www.unr.edu/financial-aid. Completing the FAFSA for need-based aid is encouraged to increase the student’s opportunity for additional financial assistance.
UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
The University’s general scholarship program offers awards to entering students which may be renewed for the sophomore year. Scholarships to juniors and seniors are awarded primarily by the college or department.
General scholarships offered to entering students are based on the academic credentials presented at the time of admission. Entering freshmen scholarships are offered based on a combination of high school GPA and college entrance examination scores (ACT or SAT). Entering transfer students are awarded based on a cumulative transfer GPA. Priority deadline is February 1st. Awards made after that date are on a funds available basis.
Continuing students not currently receiving scholarships may complete an online scholarship application prior to the February 1st deadline. Some colleges and departments may have a supplemental scholarship application required for annual consideration. For more information on scholarships and application forms for continuing students please refer to our website at http://www.unr.edu/financial-aid.
GRADUATE STUDENTS
Graduate students may apply for scholarships using the general online scholarship application. Application deadline is February 1st.
