Undergraduate Majors

A college major is the primary field of study. Each student must declare a major before completing 60 credits.

A major program must be at least 120 credits, although some programs require more. Each major has a list of courses that a student must complete in order to graduate. In addition to these specified courses, each college may have additional requirements, such as a higher grade point average (GPA) or minimum grade requirements for individual courses. In this catalog, each college chapter has a detailed listing of the major requirements for their programs.

To declare a major, complete the Declaration/Change of Plan (Major) form. This form must be signed by the academic advisor and filed with the Office of Admissions and Records. Additional information regarding the declaration of major policy can be found in the Undecided/Exploratory Student Policy  section.

For a listing of the number of credits required for degrees by college, see the Bachelor’s Degree Titles and Credits Required  table.
