Renewable Energy Center


The Renewable Energy Center is a collaborative effort of faculty in four colleges within the University: the College of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Natural Resources; the College of Business; the College of Engineering; and the College of Science. The Center coordinates research and technology development in the areas of renewable energy and efficiency. Currently there are major research programs at the University of Nevada, Reno in biomass/biofuels, geothermal energy, solar energy, smart power-grid and wind energy, and energy efficiency and storage. Educational programs include the Renewable Energy Minor, a Renewable Energy Emphasis in Electrical/Biomedical Engineering, and an Online Graduate Certificate in Renewable Energy. The Business Environmental Program provides environmental management assistance to business and government operations. Further information is available at the Center’s website.
