It is the goal of the Office of Information Technology (OIT) to provide reliable and secure information technology services and resources promoting growth, collaboration, and diversity to enable the successful delivery of the University’s core themes: Learning, Discovery and Engagement. In partnership with peer institutions, organizations and the community, the Office of Information Technology empowers the University of Nevada, Reno to be a leader of innovative solutions for current and future generations.
OIT provides support for research computing, general computing, software, security, business applications, storage, network connectivity, voice communications, and data services to students, faculty, and staff across campus. The OIT Support Center, located in the atrium of the Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center, is our first level of assistance to students, staff and faculty with technology related questions. OIT is developing and strategizing to provide a higher level of guidance to those who participate in research at the University by creating a well-defined cyberinfrastructure plan. In addition to operating several open general-access computer labs for students, OIT oversees campus wide networking, email and storage for students.
