Psychological Counseling
Counseling Services offers individual and group psychotherapy services to University of Nevada, Reno students. Counseling Services is a multidisciplinary team comprised of licensed psychologists and licensed clinical social workers, along with a select group of advanced trainees in psychology and social work, who are under the supervision of the licensed staff. The staff is experienced in working with a wide range of issues, such as depression, stress, anxiety, eating disorders, sexual identity, emotional dysregulation, interpersonal and relationship concerns. Counseling Services also offers a variety of prevention and outreach services to the campus community.
Initial consultation sessions are managed on a same-day appointment basis. Students may call (775) 784-4648 after 8:00 am to find out about our available intake times for that day.
- During the Fall and Spring semesters, Counseling Services hours are Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- During the Summer and Winter/Spring breaks, our hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m – 5 p.m.
Services are confidential and comply with federal and state law, along with professional ethical codes. There is no charge for most services beyond the mandatory counseling fee paid each semester. Counseling Services is fully accredited by the International Association of Counseling Services.
