Office of Information Technology


It is the goal of the Office of Information Technology (OIT) to provide reliable and secure information technology services and resources promoting growth, collaboration, and diversity to enable the successful delivery of the University’s core themes: Learning, Discovery and Engagement. In partnership with peer institutions, organizations and the community, the Office of Information Technology empowers the University of Nevada, Reno to be a leader of innovative solutions for current and future generations. 

OIT provides support for research computing, general computing, software, security, business applications, storage, network connectivity, voice communications, and data services to students, faculty, and staff across campus. The OIT Support Center, the first level of assistance to students, staff and faculty with technology related questions is available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day electronically and in-person Monday through Friday during the day in the atrium of the Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center. OIT, in collaboration with other technology expertise across the campus, provides support to UNR’s work as an R1 very high research activity doctoral university.  In addition to operating several open general-access computer labs for students, OIT oversees campus wide networking, email, storage and online accessibility for the UNR community.
