UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES
The University of Nevada, Reno Libraries are housed in the Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center (humanities, social sciences, life sciences, general resources) and the DeLaMare Science & Engineering Library (engineering, geosciences, physical sciences, maps). The Libraries combine the best of traditional library resources with digital, multimedia and emerging technologies. These pioneering information environments are designed to nurture creativity and stimulate intellectual inquiry. The UNR Libraries serve as the primary center for information resources and services in support of learning and research at the University of Nevada, Reno.
The University Libraries’ collections include over 1.3 million volumes of printed materials, extensive multimedia collections, thousands of journals, and over a million books in electronic format. Unique primary research materials are available in Special Collections & University Archives and the Basque Library, both of which are housed on the third floor of the Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center.
Services in the Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center include:
- @One (general purpose computing lab with advanced software, technologies, and expert staff to help students with technology projects)
- DataWorks Analysis and Visualization Lab
- Dynamic Media Lab (video post-production support and audio recording support)
- @Reality (virtual and augmented reality development lab
- Digital media equipment checkout (including audio and video options)
- Poster printing
- Research assistance
- Group study rooms, conference rooms, classrooms, and an auditorium
- Bytes Cafe
Services in the DeLaMare Science & Engineering Library include:
- Makerspace (featuring 3D printing and scanning, and laser and vinyl cutters)
- Lendable technology (including programmable, virtual reality, and robotics tools and kits)
- DataWorks Analysis and Visualization South Lab
- Group study rooms

Teaching & Learning Technologies
Teaching & Learning Technologies (TLT) provides the technology and human resources needed to support faculty and students with interactive and collaborative learning and teaching models. TLT is comprised of two units: Classroom Technology and the Instructional Design Team (IDT). Classroom Technology offers a variety of multimedia services and technology support, including:
- Smart classrooms and technical support
- Learning space design and development
- AV support for classroom and conference spaces
- Video conferencing support
IDT provides faculty support of advanced pedagogy and technology, including:
- Instructional design and course design support
- WebCampus course administration and faculty support
- Workshops in the effective use of instructional technologies
