UNIVERSITY OF NEVADA PRESS

Established by the Board of Regents in 1961, the University of Nevada Press is the book publishing arm of the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE). The Press publishes both scholarly and general interest titles. Its purpose is to make a contribution to the state and to the international scholarly community by publishing books dealing with history, government, natural resources, environment, women’s studies, ethnic studies, literature, and culture, especially as these topics pertain to Nevada and the American West.

The press issues several distinguished series of books, including: the Basque Series, the Wilbur S. Shepperson Series in Nevada History, the Western Literature Series, the Gambling Studies Series, the Urban West Series, and the West Word Fiction Series.

Decisions on manuscript publication are made by the Press Editorial Advisory Board, consisting of faculty members from the University of Nevada, Reno; the University of Nevada, Las Vegas; the Desert Research Institute; and the community colleges. Approximately 20 new titles are published each year.

Located in the basement of Morrill Hall Alumni Center on the campus of the University of Nevada, Reno, the Press is open during regular business hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday). For more information, consult the Press’s website, http://www.unpress.nevada.edu or call (775) 784-6573.
