Tutoring Center

The Tutoring Center offers a variety of services to help students excel academically. Peer-tutors help students develop study skills, understand concepts, and increase self-confidence. Types of tutoring include:
FREE SERVICES
- One-on-one appointments are 50-minute sessions with a trained peer tutor. Together, you and your tutor focus on your specific concerns for a specific course. You can schedule no more than two appointments per day. If you cancel a session less than 24 hours in advance or fail to show up for a session, it will be counted as an absence. After two absences, you will be blocked from creating additional appointment sessions. To schedule an appointment, go to our website and click “Make An Appointment.” Appointments are held in the Thompson Building.
- Walk-In Labs are provided for math/physics and the sciences in two different locations: the DeLaMare Library, and the Knowledge Center. Check our website for schedules and courses tutored.
- Small group tutoring sessions meet weekly with 2-10 students in the same class with the same teacher. Students must call (784-6801) or drop by the Tutoring Center to schedule group sessions.
- Supplemental Instruction (SI) in traditionally difficult courses. SI Leaders attend class, work closely with the instructor and SI Supervisor, and facilitate four hours of open SI sessions a week and additional test reviews.
The office is open:
Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Friday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
