Thermodynamic and crystallographic aspects of phase transformations; diffusion controlled, diffusionless (martensitic), and order-disorder transformations; transformations in glasses and organic materials.

Prerequisite(s): MSE 232; MSE 250. Recommended preparation: MSE 361; ENGR 360.
