Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to demonstrate an advanced level of competency in Galois theory (field extensions, splitting fields, algebraic closure, normality, Galois group of a polynomial, finite fields,separability, cyclotomic extensions, radical extensions).
2. Students will be able to demonstrate an advanced level of competency in commutative algebra (chain conditions, prime and primary ideals, primary decomposition, Jacobson radical, Hilbert Nullstellensatz).
