MSE 657 - Introduction to Biomaterials (3 units) Principles underlying the use of materials in biological systems and applications. Topics include structure, properties and classes of materials, characterization, materials performance and biological response.
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Spring - Odd Years Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will have an ability to apply engineering research and theory to advance the art, science, and practice of the discipline. 2. Students will have an ability to design and conduct experiments as well as to analyze, interpret, apply, and disseminate the data. 3. Students will have an understanding of research methodology.
