MUS 234 - Recording Techniques and Midi II (2 units) Advanced musical instrument digital interface (MIDI) applications in computer sequencing with analog tape recording; includes computer sequencing, synthesizer programming effects. (Formerly MUS 223; implemented Fall 2004.)
Prerequisite(s): MUS 233.
Units of Lecture: 2 Offered: Every Fall and Spring Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to use a Pro Tools Digital Audio Workstation. 2. Students will be able to demonstrate mixing concepts such as volume, panning, compression, noise gates, EQ, reverb, delay and automation. 3. Students will be able to demonstrate micing techniques for drum set, bass, guitar, piano, organ & vocals. They will engineer a one song demo with live players.
