MUS 302 - Music Theory IV (3 units) Continuation of MUS 203-204, including study of diatonic and chromatic harmony.
Prerequisite(s): MUS 301.
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Spring Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to build and analyze complex chord constructions that appear more frequently in Romantic era compositions. 2. Students will analyze techniques related to post-Romantic styles of composition, particularly Impressionism, atonality, and serialism. 3. Students will be able to demonstrate familiarity with other movements in 20th century Western classical art music following serialism.
