MUS 364 - Instrumental Conducting

Technique of the baton and score reading. Practical leadership experience may be gained by directing the band, orchestra, or ensembles. (Formerly MUS 322; implemented Fall 2004.)

Prerequisite(s): MUS 362 .

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to demonstrate clear conducting patterns in instrumental music.
2. Students will be able to analyze an orchestral score.
3. Students will be able to explain through gesture and instrumental technique how to create a blended sound.
