MUS 426 - Vocal Literature (2 units) Solo and chamber vocal music from the Renaissance to the present.
Prerequisite(s): MUS 341 ; MUS 342 .
Units of Lecture: 2 Offered: Every Fall - Odd Years Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to demonstrate understanding of the historical context and trajectory of the oratorio. 2. Students will be able to identify the major musical contributors to the oratorio. 3. Students will be able to develop a working knowledge of the major works of the genre. 4. Students will be able to develop the ability to perform repertoire from the various periods and styled of the oratorio.
