MUS 449 - Advanced Choral Methods

Demonstration and lecture on aspects of vocal technique and organization involved in directing high school and college choruses.

Prerequisite(s): MUS 441 .

Units of Lecture: 2
Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to demonstrate aspects of vocal techique involved in directing high school choirs.
2. Students will be able to sing and teach a variety of warm ups, songs, pieces, and activities appropriate for a choral music program between grades 6-12.
3. Students will be able to create and implement clearly written, age-appropriate lesson plans intended for use in the choral classroom.
