MUSE 101 - Concert Choir (1 unit) CO7 Performance of representative choral music of all periods; featured in local concerts and on tour. Maximum of 4 credits each. (Formerly MUS 111; implemented Fall 2005.)
Units of Laboratory/Studio: 1 Core Status: Core Fine Arts, CO7 Offered: Every Fall and Spring Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to demonstrate professional ethics and conduct, through prompt and accurate preparation of assigned repertoire, and adherence to attendance policy. 2. Students will be able to demonstrate technical competency as ensemble and solo performers through the performance of accurate notes and rhythms, and skills such as listening, tuning, blending and balancing, and playing/singing together. 3. Students will be able to demonstrate expressive competency through skills such as appropriate articulation/style, phrasing, and pacing of musical energy. 4. Students will be able to demonstrate ability to make musical decisions based on the context of listening, history, performance practice, and music theory. 5. Students will be able to demonstrate an appreciation of aesthetic experience through music performance and literature.
