MUSE 410 - Opera Theatre (1 to 3 units) Advanced music theatre techniques, including roles for singers in the university’s Opera Theatre productions and one-act opera projects for directors and pianist-coaches. Maximum of 8 credits. (Formerly MUS 470; implemented Fall 2004.)
Core Status: Core Fine Arts Requirement Offered: Every Fall and Spring Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to demonstrate leadership through prompt and accurate preparation of assigned repertoire, and adherence to attendance policy. 2. Students will be able to demonstrate advanced technical competency as ensemble and solo performers through the performance of accurate notes and rhythms, and skills such as listening, tuning, blending and balancing, and playing/singing together. 3. Students will be able to demonstrate advanced expressive competency through skills such as appropriate articulation/style, phrasing, and pacing of musical energy.
