NURS 735 - Intro to Knowledge Development and Scientific Inquiry

Analysis of concepts, models, constructs, and theories that apply to scientific inquiry in development of nursing science for evidence-based practice, leadership, and education.

Prerequisite(s): Admission to the MSN program.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to compare models, concepts, constructs, and theories of nursing to those from other disciplines.
2. Students will be able to analyze the interrelationships among models, concepts, constructs, and theories applied to scientific inquiry in nursing.
3. Students will be able to participate in the development of nursing knowledge through scientific inquiry.
4. Students will be able to analyze the research process as it applies to the development of nursing knowledge.
5. Students will be able to utilize information systems and research findings in the development of nursing knowledge for evidence-based practice, education, and leadership.
