NURS 783 - Nursing Education Role Practicum

Implementation of teaching and learning theories, curriculum development and evaluation strategies in nursing education settings.

Prerequisite(s): Admission to the MSN program.

Units of Internship/Practicum: 3
Offered: Every Spring
Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to implements teaching plans that respect diversity and address complex health care needs of person, including the non-served and under-served populations and communities.
2. Students will be able to demonstrates ethical professional behaviors in helping-trusting, relationships with aggregates, clients, patients, students, staff and colleagues in the educational setting.
3. Students will be able to implement collaborative teaching plans to provide educational services for optimal health care to individuals, families, special populations, and communities with an emphasis on health promotion.
4. Students will be able to formulate student activities to meet teaching plan goals and objectives.
5. Students will be able to apply education evaluation strategies and techniques to measure leaving outcomes and program effectiveness.
6. Students will be able to participate in the development of nursing education as a science, through the synthesis of learning and nursing theories, research, evidence-based practice, and scientific processes.
