Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to discuss the causes and effects of major institutional structures in democracies of developed nations.
2. Students will be able to evaluate institutional design, how and why institutions matter, and the effects they have on policy outcomes of governments.
3. Students will be able to discuss and evaluate alternative theoretical perspectives on the problem of social choice in democracies.
4. Students will be able to discuss and evaluate problems and policies in the areas of the economy, education, health, welfare, and the environment.
