PSY 748 - Community Psychology (3 units) Mental health problems of population, including psychological epidemiology and mental health needs of communities. Mental health consultation and education. Crisis intervention.
Units of Lecture: 3 Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to explain the differences between primary and secondary prevention. 2. Students will be able to design primary and secondary prevention interventions. 3. Students will be able to explain the differences between individual and community levels of analysis. 4. Students will be able to explain the differences between clinical psychology and community psychology in theory and practice. 5. Students will be able to evaluate community level prevention and intervention programs.
