SOC 207 - Introduction to Sociological Theory

Examination of the works of classical and contemporary social theorists of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Prerequisite(s): SOC 101.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to demonstrate understanding of the historical development of major paradigms and theories in the discipline of sociology and how key theorists/thinkers shaped the field.
2. Students will be able to explain how core ideas in sociology are related to one another across time (e.g. classical to contemporary), level (e.g. macro to micro), and paradigms.
