SRJS 725 - Research Methods in the Social Sciences (3 units) Immersion in the basic methodological perspectives and techniques of social science research. (Formerly SRJS 625; implemented Spring 2009).
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to translate a research interest into a researchable question. 2. Students will be able to select the appropriate social-scientific method(s) to test their question(s). 3. Students will be able to develop mock research designs including experiments, surveys, and participant observation studies. 4. Students will be able to explain and apply methods of qualitative data analysis. 5. Students will be able to explain and apply methods of quantitative data analysis.
