Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to analyze how gender is constructed in relation to race, class, nation, sexuality, dis/ability, and other facets of social power and identity in multiple global contexts.
2. Students will be able to explain and critically apply key concepts in contemporary feminist theory, including intersectional analysis, social construction, and transnational feminisms.
3. Students will be able to identify and evaluate how feminist theory is developed and used in scholarship, political practice, and public debate in the United States and globally.
4. Students will be able to analyze and synthesize primary and secondary sources both orally and in writing.
