SCI 310 - College of Science Transfer Seminar: Success in Science, Mathematics, and Engineering (1 S/U only unit) Overview of the mission of the research university, necessary academic skills and academic/student life resources available to new transfer students for student success.
Units of Lecture: 1 Offered: Every Fall and Spring Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to summarize the function of a research university and the purpose of a university education. 2. Students will be able to summarize the University, College of Science, and academic department’s organizational structure, programs, resources, and opportunities. 3. Students will be able to demonstrate effective and professional communication with faculty, staff and other undergraduate students. 4. Students will be able to identify and utilize campus support services. 5. Students will be able to explore and identify any career and graduate school opportunities. 6. Students will be able to develop an academic plan for graduation.
