EL 766 - Personnel Administration in Higher Education

Complex issues of personnel administration in higher education, including how to recruit, hire, train, motivate, discipline, and terminate diverse faculty and staff.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to examine the complexity of issues related to personnel administration in higher education.
2. Students will be able to assess the recruitment process and procedures for faculty and staff.
3. Students will be able to explain and evaluate the importance of the recruitment of a diverse faculty and staff.
4. Students will be able to develop a plan for training and motivating faculty and staff to perform assigned duties.
5. Students will be able to explain the disciplinary process for faculty and staff.
6. Students will be able to describe and apply the legal framework of university, NSHE, and the state system in the discipline and termination procedures of faculty and staff.
