ME 694 - Nuclear and Other Radioactive Materials Transport Security (2 units) International and U.S. domestic requirements for security during the transport of nuclear and other radioactive materials. Use of transport security plans, readiness reviews and corrective actions.This course offered only at Argonne National Laboratory. Students are responsible for all national laboratory fees and expenses associated with the course location.
Prerequisite(s): A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Basic knowledge of nuclear physics and regulatory requirements for safe transport of radioactive materials.
Units of Lecture: 2 Offered: Every Fall Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will have an ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering. 2. Students will have an ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data. 3. Students will have an ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability.
