SPSY 794 - Qualification Examination (1 unit) S/U only Course is used by the Interdisciplinary Social Psychology Ph.D. Program to administer qualification examinations at the end of the first year.
Prerequisite(s): Admission to doctoral program in Social Psychology.
Offered: Every Fall Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of major contemporary concepts and theories in social psychology, and apply them in the analysis of human behavior in its social context. 2. Students will be able to demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of research methods in social psychology, and apply this knowledge in the design of research studies as well as in the analysis of problems typical for social-psychological research. 3. Students will be able to demonstrate that they can derive empirically testable hypotheses from theoretical frameworks, and that they can devise empirical studies that are suitable for testing these hypotheses.
