ART 232 - Painting II

(3 units)
Intermediate course in painting, emphasizing various materials and methods. Maximum of 6 credits.

Prerequisite(s): ART 100 ; ART 231 .

Units of Laboratory/Studio: 3
Offered: Every Fall, Spring, and Summer
Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of basic design skills, such as composition, color and paint application in the development of their concepts.
2. Students will be able to develop building skills related to the construction and preparation of the painting surface.
3. Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of contemporary art vocabulary in the critical evaluation of their work and that of their peers during class critiques.
4. Students will be able to recognize and interpret critical issues and practices in the painting program.
