Units of Lecture: 3
Offered: Every Spring - Odd Years
Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to demonstrate the ability to think critically and to use appropriate concepts to analyze chemical processes in the atmosphere.
2. Students will be able to develop the ability to explain and qualitatively analyze chemical reactions, their rates, and calculate life times of chemical compounds in the atmosphere.
3. Students will be able to show their understanding and knowledge of gas phase kinetics, gas-phase reactions, photochemical smog formation, atmospheric photo-chemical processes, and aqueous-phase reactions.
4. Students will be able to demonstrate their knowledge through both written (exam, home works) and oral communication (discussion in the class, oral presentations).
