BIOL 110 - Biology for Elementary/Middle Level Education Majors (3 units) Introduction to basic biological concepts and science teaching pedagogy for prospective elementary/middle level teachers utilizing scientific methodology and hands-on investigative techniques.
Prerequisite(s): MATH 120 or higher.
Units of Lecture: 2 Units of Laboratory/Studio: 1 Offered: Every Spring Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to discuss the University, College of Science, and academic department’s organizational structure, programs, resources and opportunities. 2. Students will be able to demonstrate effective and professional communication with faculty, staff and other undergraduate students. 3. Students will be able to identify and utilize campus support services. 4. Students will be able to identify career opportunities and develop an academic plan.
