CEE 442 - Fundamentals of Geotechnical Engineering (3 to 4 units) Weight-volume relationships and soil compaction; permeability and seepage; consolidation and settlement; shear strength and application to lateral earth pressure, bearing capacity and slope stability.
Prerequisite(s): CEE 372 with a “C” or better, or corequisite. Corequisite(s): CEE 372 .
Offered: Every Fall and Spring Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will have an ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering. 2. Students will have an ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data. 3. Students will have an ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.
