ECON 450 - Casino Industry Regulation

Descriptive and economic analysis of gaming regulation in the U.S. and abroad. Topics include economic impact of regulation, new jurisdictions, advertising, licensing, and price controls.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the gaming industry in Nevada and the world.
2. Students will be able to demonstrate understanding of the economic benefits and costs of the gaming industry.
3. Students will be able to compare and contrast various approaches to gaming regulation domestically and internationally.
4. Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the social impact of gaming including problem gaming, and relation to organized crime.
