Prerequisite(s): Junior standing. Corequisite(s): ENG 303 .

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to write lucid, well-constructed arguments analyzing and interpreting texts.
2. Students will be able to analyze literary works in their cultural and historical contexts.
3. Students will be able to articulate the premises and assumptions of different critical approaches and apply them to Shakespeare’s tragedies and histories using literary-critical vocabulary.
4. Students will be able to describe and analyze important ideas and stylistic features of Shakespeare’s works.
5. Students will be able to apply critical reading skills when interpreting, analyzing, discussing, and evaluating course texts.
