ENG 498A - Internship in English (1 to 3 units) Practicum or field experience in school or community settings. May be repeated to a maximum of 3 credits.
Prerequisite(s): Junior standing. Corequisite(s): ENG 303 .
Offered: Every Fall and Spring Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to produce professional application materials to secure an internship, including a resume, an application letter, and a successful interview. 2. Students will be able to produce work products assigned by the internship sponsor; these products will exhibit quality work and meet deadlines. 3. Students will be able to engage the skills mastered in English studies (research, writing, oral communication) in a work environment. 4. Students will be able to collaborate with internship sponsor to maintain a professional working relationship. 5. Students will be able to analyze the internship experience upon its completion by submitting a written evaluation of the experience and its value and connection to English studies.
