ENG 738 - Seminar in Professional Writing (4 units) Theory, pedagogy, and research in professional writing. Focus on popular, organizational, governmental contexts for document design and workplace genres. Maximum of 8 credits.
Prerequisite(s): Admission to graduate standing in the department of English.
Units of Lecture: 4 Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to identify central conversations, methodologies, and curricular/pedagogical approaches in professional writing. 2. Students will be able to design inquiry into a professional writing context by drawing on methodologies appropriate to the context. 3. Students will be able to situate their inquiry as a response to central questions and issues in professional writing. 4. Students will be able to report their inquiry in written genres appropriate to scholarly and non-scholarly audiences.
