GEOG 405 - GIS I: Geographic Information Systems and Science

Introduction to modern spatial data processing, development and functions of geographic information systems (GIS); and theory, concepts and applications of geographic information science (GISci).

Prerequisite(s): GEOG 205 or GEOG 210.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to identify and evaluate methods and tools for analysis and interpretation of geo-spatial data.
2. Students will be able to apply appropriate geo-spatial technologies to solve problems within their area of interest.
3. Students will be able to communicate the results and findings of geo-spatial analyses in written, verbal, or graphical formats.
