Prerequisite(s): GEOG 405 . Recommended Preparation: Course in cartography, computer science or statistics.

Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to define what constitutes a spatial analysis using GIS.
2. Students will be able to discuss how GIS technology is implemented and the ArcGIS 10.3 software framework.
3. Students will be able to complete research-based analysis utilizing main-stream GIS technology to address a scientific topic of societal concern.
