GEOG 411 - Remote Sensing: Principles and Applications

Advanced introduction covering physical basis of remote sensing: tools and techniques to process and interpret imagery; relevant applications in terrestrial, human-dominated, and aquatic environments.

Prerequisite(s): GEOG 205 or GEOG 210, Completion of Core Math Requirement or SAT of 610 or ACT of 27 or Corequisite. Corequisite(s): MATH 127or higher.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to discuss the history, underlying theory, and technology used for remote sensing.
2. Students will be able to complete research-based analysis utilizing remote sensing technology to address a scientific topic of societal concern.
3. Students will be able to communicate the results and findings of geo-spatial analyses in written, verbal, or graphical formats.
