GEOG 421 - Climatology

Conceptual analysis of synoptic and mesoscale circulation patterns in the North American Westerlies. Emphasis on circulation patterns and embedded processes that produce differing climatic outcomes.

Recommended Preparation: GEOG 103 or GEOG 121.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to discuss fundamental characteristics and behaviors of synoptic and mesoscale circulation patterns.
2. Students will be able to apply their understanding of synoptic and mesoscale circulation patterns to better understand the environmental impacts of changes in regional and global climate.
3. Students will be able to communicate the subject matter in written, verbal, or graphical format.
