GEOL 785 - Introduction to Groundwater Modeling

Numerical solution of the ordinary and partial differential equations of groundwater flow and contaminant transport. Emphases on learning methodology and solving applied problems.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to develop a conceptual model of the hydrogeologic system.
2. Students will be able to demonstrate familiarity with the principles and implementation of the MODFLOW groundwater modeling system.
3. Students will be able to develop a groundwater model that represents a real-world hydrogeologic system.
