Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to demonstrate rapport and sustain working relationships with older persons, their families, and caregivers.
2. Students will be able to recognize and identify assumptions about aging, stereotyping, prejudice, stigma, and discrimination related to age.
3. Students will be able to articulate key elements of the interdisciplinary field of gerontology and the contributions made to it by researchers, scholars, and practitioners from multiple disciplines.
4. Students will be able to select a field in which they may choose to work and access its viability.
5. Students will be able to describe essential organizations and agencies in our community that serve older persons.
