HIST 345 - The History of Society and Culture in Brazil

Brazil from 1500 to the present. Issues presented include race relations, slavery, economic development, political change and the Amazon.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to analyze, evaluate, and interpret primary sources.
2. Students will be able to analyze and clearly explain the argument, main points, and use of evidence in secondary sources.
3. Students will be able to clearly and effectively articulate an original interpretation in verbal and written form.
4. Students will be able to identify key events, issues, and policies related to Brazil from 1500 to the present, including race relations, slavery, economic development, political change and the Amazon.
