HIST 454 - Topics in Medieval History

Selected topics concerning medieval economic, social, political, religious and cultural developments such as feudal society, religious orthodoxy and dissent, universities and chivalry. Maximum of 6 credits.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to analyze and interpret primary sources from the medieval world through discussions, written assignments, and oral presentations.
2. Students will be able to explain various aspects of medieval religion, culture and society and their development from the end of the Roman Empire to the Renaissance.
3. Students will be able to synthesize, analyze, and convey complex historical information by means of a final project.
