Political and economic history of Europe from the Congress of Vienna to the outbreak of World War I.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will explore and define the main social, cultural, economic, and political forces shaping nineteenth century Europe.
2. Students will analyze and synthesize primary and secondary literature to understand the development of European society in the nineteenth century.
3. Students will demonstrate and develop oral and written communication skills through in-class presentations and written assignments.
4. Students will be able to identify and analyze relevant primary and secondary sources to develop and support a historical argument through the completion of a research paper.
