HIST 494B - Pathologies of Daily Life in Modern China (3 units) CO11 Thematic analysis of the lived experience of historical change, focusing on such conditions as drug addiction, war trauma, neurologic stress.
Units of Lecture: 3 Core Status: CO11 Offered: Every Spring - Odd Years Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to analyze, evaluate, and interpret primary sources. 2. Students will be able to analyze and clearly explain the argument, main points, and use of evidence in secondary sources. 3. Students will be able to clearly and effectively articulate an original interpretation in verbal and written form. 4. Students will be able to identify key events, issues, and policies related to the lived experience of life in modern China, focusing on such conditions as drug addiction, war trauma, neurologic stress.
